Cummins PowerCommand Cloud presented a unique opportunity to validate the impact of a new enterprise design system within a production environment. The platform seamlessly integrated account management, generator monitoring, telematics, permissions, service workflows, and remote operational control. While the initial iteration adopted a location-centric, map-based interface, the evolving needs of super users, administrators, and standard users required more adaptive methods for viewing, grouping, prioritizing, and managing generator assets across diverse operational scenarios.
Within just 12 weeks, our team delivered a comprehensive redesign for PowerCommand Cloud, demonstrating how the Cummins design system could accelerate strategic product development, enhance decision-making, and enable advanced platform capabilities. The results offered leadership a blueprint for evolving the product beyond its MVP roots toward a more robust operational solution. Even as Cummins shifted to an acquisition-led strategy, the UX architecture, control frameworks, and product patterns we established continued to influence future platform assessments and inform experience direction.
